President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi has launched a month-long awareness campaign on breast cancer. On his advise to the PCB and other officials, the pink day will be observed in the third T20 at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

The President himself will tie a pink stripe on the shoulders of both the captains in the pre-match ceremony. The teams official and ground staff are also ordered to take measure for today's match. The PCB had to arrange everything on a short notice of 24 hours as it was not in the initial plan. Twelve thousand pink stripes will also be distributed among the crowd for awareness against breast cancer. PCB has requested the people to come in a pink dress to create awareness among the locals.

Cricket is one of the best games to promote love and cultural harmony in nations. After Football and Tennis, it is the most attractive sports in the world. To spread awareness using cricket as a platform was first introduced by South African Cricket Board in 2013 against Pakistan at Johannesburg. For every home series South African Cricket Board observes a pink day at Johannesburg for creating awareness about breast cancer and donates the revenue to an organization fighting against breast cancer.

In a similar fashion RCB, an IPL franchise promotes greenery by wearing green kits in home matches known as "Go Green Initiative".

After PSL, Pakistan Cricket Board has also joined Pink Ribbon the organization working for breast cancer. Now PCB is officially observing the day for a cause of good. Such initiatives ought to be taken by every cricket board for the betterment of humanity and sports.
