One of the most thrilling ashes has come to an end. A lot of ups and downs witnessed by Australian and English cricket fans but it ends in a draw. There were some brilliant individual performances by both the teams like Steve Smith, Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes.

It started with a dramatic come back of Steve Smith and David Warner after one year ban from international cricket. They were playing white-ball cricket since April 2019 but, it was their first appearance in red-ball cricket. The English fans were trolling both of them by different means meme.

The Ashes became more interesting and entertaining when Steve Smith started scoring runs. He scored a brilliant century in come back innings and shut the critics by his performance. Within no time he became the most followed player. He jumped to number one test ranking in just four innings leaving Virat Kohli behind. He scored 774 runs in 7 innings with an average of 110.57. He also scored the highest individual score and the only double hundred of the Ashes that is 211 runs.

Despite brilliant performances by Steve Smith, David Warner was having a tough time at the crease and in the outfield as well. He was not only being trolled by spectators, but his performance was also creating troubles. He only managed to score 95 runs in 10 innings with an average of 9.50 runs per innings. Stuart Broad proves to be a nightmare for Warner.

The Ashes ended in 2-2 not as many were predicting Australia to be the winner. The only man who has snatched the series from the jaws of Australians is none other than Ben Stokes. His sensational 135 not out in the third Ashes Test is the only hurdle between Australia and victory. He scored 76 runs for the last wicket and led England to a dramatic victory. It is correct to say that the year 2019 is the year of Ben Stokes. Without Stokes England had not been able to win World Cup nor the Ashes would have ended in a draw.

Australia retains the trophy as it remains with the winner of previous Ashes winner
