One of the finest bowlers of recent era Dale Willem Steyn also known as Steyn Gun retires from Test cricket. He did his test cricket debut against South Africa at Port Elizabeth in 2004. He also played his test at Port Elizabeth against Sri Lanka in February 2019. In his 93 matches career, he picked up 439 wickets averaging 22.95. His best in an inning was 7 for 51 while, best in a match was 11 for 60. 26 times he managed to pick up 5 wickets haul and 5 times 10 wickets haul.

The 36 years old fast bowler is optimistic about his one day and T20 career. His career downfall was due to shoulder surgery in 2015-16. He had a good comeback in 2018-19 but, was again caught by an injury in IPL season 2019 which restricted him from playing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. He ends his test career as the highest wicket-taker for South Africa.

It is always sad to see a legend leaving but, he will continue playing white-ball cricket which is a good sign for his fans. Steyn will remain an inspiration for many.
