The Universal Boss Christopher Henry Gayle has surpassed Great Brian Lara. He has now become the highest runs scorer for West Indies in ODI cricket. Chris Gayle scored 10408 runs in 300 ODI whereas, Brain Lara had scored 10405 ODI runs in 299 matches. He is also the first player for West Indies to appear in 300 One Day Internationals.

It is an injustice to compare both batsmen as their era was completely different from another. Lara's achievements were in bowlers dominant era. Great Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and, Mcgrath were overwhelmed those days as ICC rules were not too strict for the pacers and seamers.

Chris Gayle first half was similar but, the advent of T20 cricket has made him what he is today. Pitches became flat and, bowlers were restricted to bowl one bouncer per over. Despite all, he was best in business as he had faced Shoaib Akhter, Brett Lee, Lasith Malinga, and Dale Steyn in later part of the career. He loves to take risk against world best spinners, whom many fear.

He's averaging 37.71 with 53 fifties and 25 hundred shows his intent towards the game. He is the only Carribean to score a double century in ODI. His highest score is 215 against Zimbabwe in ICC cricket world cup 2015.
