International Cricket Council has officially ban Zimbabwe cricket from ICC Tournaments, resulting in the suspension of funding as well. The participation of Zimbabwe in World T20 is in doubt. 

According to the International Cricket Council, Zimbabwe government interfered in the systematic affairs of cricket board thus, making the violation of article 2.4 of the ICC code of conduct. The cricket board was failed to have a fair election for their board of governors and, the government influence was the key to action. ICC said that they want Zimbabwe to continue cricket as a nation but by laws and regulation set by MCC under ICC observation. 

Zimbabwe cricket is in some real struggle since the year 2003. They are in the rebuild phase as they had restructured their domestic in 2009. In the ODI ranking announced by ICC after the cricket world cup 2019, Zimbabwe was ranked 12th, beneath Afghanistan and Ireland.
