The ICC Cricket world cup 2019 has ended with an impact on the spirit of games and ICC rules. It was one of the best cricket world cups of cricket history. Thrilling and nail-biting contests made the tournament super excited. Here, Cricketalks has accomplished a list of few moments from the cricket world cup 2019 to recall the best.

Carlos Braithwaite sensational innings

In the match 29 of the ICC cricket world cup 2019, Carlos Braithwaite played a sensational inning against New Zealand. While batting first New Zealand scored 291/8. While chasing West Indies lost 7 wickets for 164. Kemar Roach scored 14 off 31 and, build a steady partnership with Braithwaite. Braithwaite held his nerves and kept motivating the tail-enders to believe. 245/9 and 292 to win, It was impossible. He only allowed Oshane Thomas to face 4 balls and kept on hitting huge sixes from the other end. The match became more interesting when he struck 3 sixes in 48th over. When Windies required 6 off 7, Oshane Thomas was at the non-striker end. Carlos decided to go for a big one to avoid Oshane from the strike, just like he did in World T20 2016. Neesham bowled a length delivery, half-hearted pull from Braithwaite went towards the Long on and, Trent Boult picked a great running catch. It might have been a six if Trent didn't try the best. He scored 102 off 82 balls, won many hearts but lost the match. That match was the thriller of cricket world cup 2019. That catch helped New Zealand to qualify for the semis.

Imran Tahir celebration

After taking the wicket of Imam ul Haq in match 30, Imran Tahir celebrated his wicket in his typical style. After picking up a catch of his delivery, he ran almost 200m in excitement.

Sarfraz Ahmad yawn

Pakistan and India cricket matches are always most exciting of all. Due to the sharing of the border and political issues, boost up players are ready to take on the opposition. Meanwhile, captain, Sarfraz Ahmad was caught yawning in match 22 against India. He faced extreme criticism by Pakistani cricket fans after losing against India. Fan asked him to take a nap before cricket.

Bad Umpiring Standard

In a match between Australia and West Indies, the umpire failed to judge a no-ball of Mitchel Starc and, Chris Gayle was lbw on the next ball. If umpire called it a no-ball, Gayle would have been facing a free hit next. According to Braithwaite, his three deliveries were called wide while they were not above the head. West Indies lost the match by a margin of 15 runs.

Rain: The spoiler

Rain spoiled many great matches of ICC cricket world cup 2019. Those matches could have cast an impact on the top 4 teams of the knockout stage. The rain spoilers between Sri Lanka vs Pakistan and New Zealand vs India might have changed the scenario.

Meme Personality

Muhammad Akhter an emotional Pakistani cricket fan got viral on the internet after a unique reaction to a dropped catch by Asif Ali. For day or two, he was the trending person in every meme on social media. The Pakistani cricket anchor Zainab Abbas also took his interview for his versatile reaction.

Hafeez Loop ball

In the last match of his campaign against Bangladesh Muhammad Hafeez, slipped a flighted delivery off his hand. The ball remained in the air for a while. The strikes Soumya Sarkar went more than halfway down towards leg stump to make it a juicy full toss. He still couldn't manage to hit for a six but was awarded by four runs. Imad Wasim the fielder on the square leg read the situation and started running towards his right before the batsman connects but, he ended a few meters short.

Two days Semi-Final

The 1st semi-final between India and New Zealand was interrupted due to rain. While batting first New Zealand scored 239 for 8 in 50 overs. The match was interrupted due to rain and had to wait for the next day to chase the target. Next day New Zealand picked great advantage of the overcast conditions and destroyed Indian batting lineup. At the crunch moment, a direct throw by Martin Guptil to get rid of dangerous MS Dhoni was the game-changer. Guptil didn't have a good tournament with the bat but, in the field he was brilliant. For the first time in cricket history, a one day cricket match was played for two days.

Final of the century

The dramatic finale of the ICC cricket world cup 2019 was played between England and New Zealand at Lords. I had already talked about the historic encounter in other articles or you can watch highlights on youtube. The match was a tie at first but, surprisingly it ties in the super over too. England dramatically won the match by ICC most boundaries rule. The surprising fact is that the hero of the grand final Ben Stokes was a New Zealand born buddy. He was of eleven when he shifted to England. He won the first cricket world cup for England and, that is against New Zealand. Isn't it amazing to know? Couldn't see a better cricket world cup than ICC cricket world cup 2019.

Five runs controversy

According to the best former umpire of International cricket, Simon Taufel, Six runs awarded to England were of the overthrow were unlawful. According to him if over-throw results in a boundary, the single counted must be the cross between two batsmen at the time of the throw. In the final, the ball went for four after deflection of Ben Stokes bat. Umpire awarded them six runs whereas, the batsmen didn't cross for the second at the time of the throw. So, technically they must be awarded five runs having Adil Rashid on strike.
