Out of 48 Cricket World  Cup matches, England had a clinical win over South Africa in the first. ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 starts with a host win. England seems to be the favorite team, for the Cricket World Cup 2019.

In a match at Oval, South Africa won the toss and asked England to bat. The plan seems to be working perfectly when the leg brake Imran Tahir got the wicket of Johny Bairstow on the second ball of the match. Golden duck for Bairstow, not a good way to start Cricket World Cup.
Jason Roy, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan, and Ben Stokes scored the fifties. Their innings helped England to gain some momentum, and they manage to score 311 for the loss of 8 wickets. Ben Stokes scored 89 of 79 deliveries.

312 was supposed to be an easy target for South Africa. Unfornutately, Hashim Amla got retired hurt in the initial overs of the innings, and the replacement Aiden Markram wasn't that classy. One has to appreciate Jofra Archer for his brilliant spell. He was the only man to put South Africa on the backfoot. In his first spell of 5 overs, he gave 20 runs and picked two crucial wickets. In his second spell, he picked up Ressie Van der Dussen who was looking dangerous.

In the end, England won by 104 runs as South African cricket team was all out for 207 in 39.5 overs.

Here, South Africa needs to learn patience and control. The partnership between Quinton Dekock and Van der Dussen was looking dangerous. Why Dekock went for a short, that was not in control? He could have easily glanced it down to fine leg for four. At that very moment, South Africa lost momentum, and they were unable to build partnerships. The lower order batsman needs to realize that Cricket World Cup 2019 matches will depend on them a lot more. The team with the strong lower order and a good finisher will probably finish in top 4. Fielding of both sides was superb and exceptional to watch.

One thing to remember, Ben Stokes is on a hat-trick ball. He will ball his next ball in a match against Pakistan. Let's see whether he picked up a hat-trick or not?
