Pakistan cricket board has confirmed the inclusion of Muhammad Aamer and Asif Ali in the ICC Cricket World Cup squad in place of Faheem Ashraf and Abid Ali.

Faheem Ashraf has been the half allrounder for Pakistan, never been exceptional with the bat or ball. He bats down the order for his power hitting abilities but never boosted the scoring rate for the past few of innings. Somehow, he did become the number one T20 bowler five months ago. He always struggled to maintain his position as a bowler. Pakistan is in desperate need of an allrounder who can replace Abdul Razzaq in a true sense, and Faheem Ashraf was never an impact player.

Abid Ali inclusion was based on a century on debut against Australia. He has nice footwork and good techniques. Moreover, he is a good player of the back foot. After brilliant performances by Fakhar Zaman and Imam ul Haq, Cricket Board thinks to drop Abid Ali as they need a proper batsman in the lower order. Asif Ali has scored two consecutive fifties in the 2nd and 3rd ODI against England.

Muhammad Aamer who hasn't been a wicket-taker for last few months has the best records in ICC Tournaments. Despite his wicket-taking ability, he is the most economical bowler Pakistan currently have. English conditions will definitely suit him, and he will be an impact bowler in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
