The favorite cricket team for the World Cup results in a loss of both the series T20 and ODI at their home. India who had won the first of the 2 matches of 5 matches series was a powerful candidate for the series but Australian with some brilliant cricket, teamwork and individual performances won the next 3 out of 3 and outclassed India.

In the last cricket match of the series at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. The Pakistani national Australian opener Usman Khawaja was once again brilliant with the bat and scored another beautiful 100 off 106 balls which included 10 fours and 2 maximums. He played some great cricket strokes. Peter Handscomb batted well and scored 52 off 60 balls. At one stage 350 was looking within the range of the Australian bowlers but Indian bowlers really bowled well in the later part of the innings and restricted Australia to 272/9. Jasprit Bumrah was very economical as he gave 39 runs off his 10 overs.

It was not an ideal start for Indian cricket as they lost the in-form Shikhar Dhawan for 15 runs on the board. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma tried hard to build up the partnership but on 68 Kohli got out by scoring 20 off 22 balls. The wicket of Kohli put pressure on Rohit and he played with a slow strike rate. The wickets kept falling on a regular interval and the momentum shifted in favor of Australian. Kedhar Jadhav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar did try to bring things back but failed to do so, they scored 44 and 46 respectively. India a strong batting side was all out for 237 in their 50 overs at home ground, a sign of worry for Indian cricket.

Man of the series was awarded to Usman Khawaja who scored two hundred and one ninety in the last three matches of the series. India lost the home series against Australian by 3-2.
