Lahore Qalandars one of the most loved teams of the HBL PSL. Yes, one might know Lahore city for its famous traditional culture, old buildings and food streets but the only reason I know Lahore Qalandars is because of Mr. Rana Fawad. His expression and emotions are more popular in the fans of HBL PSL than the franchise he owns. Irrespective of any franchise supporter, nation wants to see a smiley face of Uncle Rana.
Lahore Qalandars had missed the chance of playing in Lahore twice. I do wish them to perform well but if they don’t, they are still going to play one match in Lahore. That will be the most awaited match of the tournament as no team from HBL PSL has played in front of their home crowd before.

After having a thorough look at Lahore Qalandars squad for the HBL PSL 2019, I rate them as balance side. The only problem they might face is relying too much on Ab de Villiers. No doubt Ab de Villiers has added strength to their squad but I think Lahore will rely more on him, which may cause them to lose the psychological battle. Over all they are strong batting side with depth in it. Sohail Akhter and Agha Salman had decent last season and if they continue to perform it will be hard to stop Lahore. Fakhar Zaman on top of the order with Ab de Villiers, Hafeez and Sohail Akhter in the depth constitute a very strong side for Lahore Qalandars. Their spin department is on the better side with Yasir Shah and Hassan Khan operating. We might miss the presence of Sunil Narine who has been readily picked up by Quetta Gladiators. If we talk about fast bowling attack, Lahore seems to have a balanced one. They have emerging young talent Shaheen Afridi who is also serving as Ambassador for Lahore Qalandars. Shaheen Afridi’s performance was exceptional in tour of South Africa and it shows that the lad’s temperament has gone better. Joining him in bowling department are Aizaz Cheema and Rahat Ali, both have played for different franchises before and have decent seasons. As a whole I see Lahore Qalandars as a strong team. As per my analysis and prediction they will finish in the 3rd or 4th position in points table.
