Newzeland cricketer: right-handed batsman Ross Taylor has become the leading runs scorer for Newzeland in ODI cricket format. He achieved this milestone in the 3rd ODI against Bangladesh in Dunedin. He breaks the record of former captain Stephen Fleming who has scored 8,007 in 280 one day international. Stephen Fleming achieved the milestone against Sri Lanka in the world cup 2007 semifinal which turns out to be last ODI for him. Ross Taylor has broken his record in just 218th ODI matches. Taylor has now become the 28th kiwi cricketer to score 8000 ODI runs for the Newzeland in one-day cricket format.

Ross Taylor has always improved as a cricketer. He has scored 5 hundred and 14 fifties since 2017. Stephen Fleming 7,712 Test cricket runs are also under threat as Ross Taylor only requires 649 more to become the leading runs scorer in Test cricket for kiwis.
